I'm Anson, a graduate of Ying Wa College and a current student at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. I achieved 5** in HKDSE ICT (territory-wide top 1%) and 5* in English (territory-wide top 5%) in 2024, with an IELTS Overall Band 8, and I offer tutoring in senior-secondary ICT and secondary-school English.
My teaching has earned the trust of university professors and secondary-school teachers alike: I was invited to become a teaching assistant on an HKUST computing course in my very first year of university, and my own ICT teacher invited me to teach senior-secondary programming while I was still a student myself.
As a co-founder of TechGrade.ICT, I brought together multiple ICT 5** graduates to develop learning resources and organise a large free ICT mock examination with over 200 candidates.
High scores show that I understand the subject. Good teaching requires more: recognising where a student is struggling, bringing together the right resources, and explaining difficult ideas until they make sense.

HKDSE ICT
HKDSE ICT is my most established teaching area. Lessons cover more than revision: students learn how HKDSE questions are constructed, how marks are awarded, where distractors and common traps appear, and how to apply their knowledge in structured questions and programming tasks. Cross-elective ICT background
- Studied the former Elective B, Data Communications and Networking, building a strong foundation in networking.
- Independently studied and sat Elective D, Software Development, achieving 5** in the 2024 HKDSE.
- Independently covered all other elective areas, supporting students across different elective combinations under the revised curriculum.
Secondary-school English
Alongside specialist ICT tutoring, I offer English lessons tailored to the student's current ability, school progress and learning goals.
- Lessons can cover grammar, sentence structure, reading comprehension, listening, writing, speaking, and school-examination preparation.
- English concepts can be explained in Chinese when helpful, so that students understand why an answer is wrong instead of relying only on memorised responses.
- Writing practice receives specific feedback and practical next steps, helping students develop more accurate and natural expression.
- The student's own homework, tests and examination papers can be used to identify recurring problems and focus on the areas that affect performance most.
- Reference notes and supplementary materials from many famous English tutors are available and drawn on as each student needs.
- The service is especially suitable for students who want to rebuild foundations, improve school results or develop more dependable English skills. Enquiries from students with other levels and goals are also welcome.

- The pace is adjusted according to the student's response. I have experience teaching students with weaker foundations and students with special educational needs.
- Practice and homework closely follow realistic school or public-examination formats where appropriate, helping students turn understanding into usable answering skills.
- ICT students draw on a complete teaching library of more than 800 pages, jointly written by three ICT 5** graduates and built around the HKEAA curriculum and public-examination requirements, covering the full compulsory and elective syllabus.
- Every enrolled student gets free access to frontier AI models I provide, to support revision.
Teaching, learning-resource and assessment-design experience
- Co-founder of TechGrade.ICT, coordinating multiple ICT 5** graduates in collaborative resource and question development.
- Co-organised a free HKDSE ICT mock examination with more than 200 participants.
- Produced an in-depth analysis of the 2025 HKDSE ICT papers to help students and teachers understand question design and assessment priorities.
- Served on HKAICT's Assessment and Executive Committees, setting and reviewing questions and evaluating student responses to keep question style, wording, difficulty and marking closely aligned with HKEAA standards.
- Invited to become an undergraduate teaching assistant at HKUST in my very first year, developing materials on AI-assisted programming and code refactoring, and designing lab activities and assessment questions for an undergraduate computing course.
- Support Session Tutor for Stack Undarflow, HKU's largest engineering undergraduate communityβoffering programming assignment assistance, including Python.
- Helped a student with special educational needs improve an ICT multiple-choice score from the teens to 28/40.
- Upon invitation from the subject teacher, served as a ICT programming tutor in Form 5, directly teaching my own ICT class.
- As Vice Chairman of the school's IT and Computer Society, served as lead lecturer for an introductory Python course for fellow students.
- Continues to share free practice and public-examination analysis through the Instagram account @ansonwph_ict.
